Dunes' Back Bay Bistro Names New General Manager

  • Orange County, CA (1888PressRelease) September 25, 2013 - Restaurant veteran Eric Tabon of Huntington Beach has been named general manager of the critically acclaimed Back Bay Bistro at Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort & Marina. During the last 15 years, Tabon held management positions at several restaurants including Zero, BlueFin, Atlanta Lounge and FitFoods4Life before accepting the position at the Back Bay Bistro. His immediate plans are to roll out Executive Chef Kurt Schaeffer's new menu, which will be released at month's end; introduce a new bar menu; and continue to work with Wine Elite, which assigns its sommeliers to various restaurants and develops their wine programs.

    The Back Bay Bistro is a contemporary 199-seat dining establishment featuring a number of innovative design elements including large gilded framed mirrors, comfortable wicker chairs, lounge seating in the bar and a sophisticated retractable awning giving the restaurant a "convertible roof." With 60 al fresco seats providing guests with refreshing breezes off Newport's Back Bay, the restaurant specializes in fresh, sustainable seafood and serves dinner Wed-Sun (5 p.m. - Close), lunch Wed-Sun (opening at 11:00 a.m.) and brunch on Sat & Sun starting at 9 a.m., with breakfast served from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m.
