  • New York, NY (1888PressRelease) January 19, 2012 - On November 29th and 30th, Nomad Two Worlds and Duggal Visual Solutions came together, with President Bill Clinton, the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI), the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Donna Karan and Urban Zen to create an outdoor exhibition at the "Invest in Haiti" forum. The forum, organized by CGI, IDB and the Government of Haiti, attracted hundreds of highly ranked global business leaders and key Haitian business, community and government leaders and was focused on supporting economic development in Haiti and highlighting the profitable business opportunities readily available there.

Nomad Two Worlds is the critically acclaimed art project, and its related non-profit foundation, created by renowned photographer Russell James to "collaborate with, support and promote artists from Indigenous and marginalized communities". It has been partnering with Haitian artisans since 2009, combining James' photography with traditional sequin-work and acrylic painting to create new collaborative artworks for international exhibition, as part of its ongoing "Economic Opportunity Through Artistic Collaboration" initiative with the Clinton Global Initiative.

Russell James contacted Duggal about the forum and the need to visually showcase the Nomad Two Worlds Haitian artworks in its unique outdoor environment. Duggal quickly produced and donated over 30 large format dye-sublimation flag and canvas prints for the event. The large format reprints were hung throughout the conference public areas, and were accented by an array of Haitian artisan wares and some very special items presented by Donna Karan and the Urban Zen Foundation.

'The combination of our images and Duggal Visual Solutions' high quality printing brought a beautiful array of color, style and design to the exhibition that President Clinton felt was an important visual component to the forum," explained Russell James.

"When Russell brought his vision to us to work collaboratively with the Clinton Global Initiative to help Haiti we were thrilled with an opportunity to help a country that has been through so much hardship", said CEO Michael Duggal of Duggal Visual Solutions.

Last month Oprah requested several of the printed banners, to be used as backdrops for a documentary she is making in support of Haiti. All parties involved hope that this continues interest in bringing new business to Haiti and helps to support not only Haiti's very talented artists but also their communities.
