"Diagnosing vein disease is simple and non-invasive," says Steve Elias, MD, FACS, FACPh, Director of The Center for Vein Disease at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center and Columbia University, "Patients should recognize that vein disease can be a progressive condition and ignoring the warning signs of vein disease can lead to serious complications including ulcers, blood clots and other medical issues."

Screenings may include a physical examination, a review of medical history, and if further evaluation is needed, an appointment for non-invasive testing can be scheduled. The Center for Vein Disease at Englewood Hospital was the first in the nation to perform the newest, minimally invasive vein procedures using ClariVein™ and VeinGogh™ to treat unsightly and problem veins - all on an outpatient basis.

Screenings will take place at The Center for Vein Disease at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center, located at 350 Engle Street in Englewood, NJ. Pre-registration is required for this free screening. To make an appointment, call 866.980.3462:

    About Vein Disease
Risk factors for vein disease include: a family history, multiple pregnancies, obesity and hormone replacement. Symptoms may include: aching, throbbing, heavy legs especially at the end of the day. Patients may also develop darkened skin by the ankles or ulcers. If patients have visible veins and exhibit these risk factors or symptoms, they should seek the opinion of a vein specialist.
