- (1888PressRelease) August 10, 2011 - The 12th Guide Awards ceremony on the theme of "Tourism Vietnam: Friendly Hospitality" was held at Mui Ne in the southern province of Binh Thuan on July 29, honouring 134 businesses over the country.
They were selected from 400 candidates involved in travel, hotel, resort, restaurant and healthcare services across the country. Among them were 76 hotels and resorts, 38 restaurants, 7 leading tour operators, 5 beauty salons and healthcare centres and 15 transportation and entertainment service companies.
The Guide Awards are sponsored annually by the executive board of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism and the Vietnam Economic Times to celebrate "the Year's Best" products and services in Vietnam's tourism sector.

The annual Guide Awards are initially nominated by readers of the life style and luxury magazine, with the shortlist presented to the executive board of the Guide. Travel, hotel, restaurant and shopping experts are invited to assist the board in making their decision, such as representatives from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam.
