  • (1888PressRelease) November 19, 2012 - ORLANDO, Florida - Bible Publisher Crossway and digital Bible maker Immersion Digital announced today that they are coming together to launch two new apps for the iPhone and iPad that will pair the award-winning 2009 Bible of the Year (ESV Study Bible) with the award-winning 2010 Bible of the Year (Glo Bible) to offer a unique experience for the Bible reader.

The new apps include the ESV Study Bible and the FREE ESV Bible App, available today in the App Store for the iPad and iPhone. These "powered by Glo" apps include trusted Crossway content, feature the English Standard Version (ESV) of the Bible, and are built upon Glo Bible's award-winning digital platform, which incorporates 360-degree virtual tours, photos, animated maps, social features and Bible reading plans.

"In this digital age, with two entire generations born in a digital world, it is crucial to have our best Bible translations and study Bibles in digital format-not by merely mimicking paper but by exploiting the full potential of digital media to communicate the Bible in new and engaging ways. The ESV and its Study Bible are hallmarks favored by millions of readers," says Nelson Saba, founder and CEO of Immersion Digital.

ESV "powered by glo" apps allow users to access any Bible chapter or verse in just two taps. Every page of the Bible features relevant videos, artwork, photos, and virtual tours, resulting in an interactive experience that gives users the full 360-degree view of the Bible. The entire Bible and related media are also organized through unique browsing "lenses," allowing users to sort and search the Bible in a variety of ways.

These new apps include the "Me" lens, which contains a journal and Bible reading plans. This lens also gives users the ability to connect to social networking sites such as Facebook or Twitter, integrating relevant posts so users can see what their friends are sharing from the Bible.

"Crossway is pleased to partner with the Glo Bible to release apps that make the richness of the ESV Bible, and the award-winning ESV Study Bible, readily accessible across the breadth of mobile devices. The ESV is one of the fastest growing Bible translations and the partnership with the award-winning Glo Bible platform should be a winning combination! Crossway is always looking for new and innovative ways to make the ESV Bible available to a world that is desperately in need of God's Word, and we believe that Nelson Saba and Immersion Digital will help us impact more lives for eternity," says Geoff Dennis, COO and Executive Vice President of Crossway.

The ESV Bible app is available now for FREE in the app store. The ESV Study Bible app is available at an introductory price of $19.99 USD and also includes the ESV translation. Study Bibles will also be available as in-app upgrades for Free ESV users or existing Glo Bible users. Glo users can also get the ESV translation in-app for $2.99 USD.
