  • Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) June 26, 2013 - Everett R. Buckler, Counselor at North Highlands Christian Counseling, has been selected as a Professional of the Year Member of the Covington Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Everett R. Buckler's commitment to excellence in Healthcare and Counseling.

Everett R. Buckler, who earned his Doctorate Degree in Individual Counseling from the International Bible School and Seminary, worked in various fields before becoming a counselor. He spent time as a farmer, fruit picker, garbage collection operator, a US Air Force logistics specialist and aviation fuel systems specialist, and a teacher in private school.

The married father, who now counsels Christians in the state of California in areas such as: gender identity, anger, morality problems, fears, marital disharmony, and childhood discipline, has dedicated his entire life to the study of human behavior.

Married for sixty-five years to wife, Wilma, who suffered from bipolar disorder for many years, Dr. Buckler and she co-authored a book together, Autobiography of an Ordinary Couple Facing Extraordinary Circumstances, published in 2012 by Trafford Publishing. Together, they narrate a sad, obstacle-ridden story about living with the disorder, which for a long time went undiagnosed in the medical field. The first part of the book describes the early lives of Wilma and Everett and how and where they grew up. While Everett comes across as a young man with principles from a hardworking, farming background, Wilma seems to be an irresponsible girl who loves parties, dating, and men. The couple met at a party while Wilma was still in high school and Everett was in the Navy. After marriage and several children, Wilma starts exhibiting strange symptoms and behaviors, which eventually spirals into full-blown bipolar disorder.

Now a widower, Dr. Buckler is an active member and counselor with the American Association of Christian Counselors. He also holds a Bachelor's Degree in Bible Studies and a Master's Degree in Christian Education. He also served four-and-a-half years in the US Navy where he worked as a naval aircraft welder and advanced to the rank of aviation metal smith first class. During his time in the Navy, Dr. Buckler joined the pilot training program and accumulated over two hundred hours of flight time.
