  • Macon, GA (1888PressRelease) August 25, 2013 - Eddye Seabrooks Langston, Retired Vocational Specialist for the Bibb County Board of Education, has been selected as a Professional of the Year Member of the Covington Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Eddye Seabrooks Langston's commitment to excellence in Education.

Eddye Seabrooks Langston, who holds a BA in Sociology with a minor in Political Science from Savannah State University and an MA in Special Education K-12 from Mercer University, became a certified related vocational specialist at Georgia Southern University in 1983.

Having started her career in 1974 as a paraprofessional for the Bibb County School System, Ms. Seabrooks Langston retired as a vocational specialist, serving as a liaison between vocational education and special education. She worked in various vocational classes with the vocational teacher simplifying lessons to meet the needs of the exceptional students.

"Education conferences were a must in order for me to keep up with the most up-to-date materials and technology," Ms. Seabrooks Langston admitted. "Reading and networking with other educators in my field also gave me knowledge to build on."

Born and raised in a poor environment, Ms. Seabrooks Langston had a great mother who expected that she do well in school. She also was fortunate enough to have good school teachers growing up, giving her the push she needed to excel in her career long after her school days were over.

A current member of Savannah State University Alumni Association, Bibb Retired Education Association, Ballard Hudson High School Reunion Committee, and Walter P. Jones Elementary School Advisory Council and Title 1 Program, Ms. Seabrooks Langston was nominated for Teacher of the Year for Bibb County Schools in 1992. She hopes to become a motivational speaker and possibly write a book someday in the future.
