    Completing his cardiovascular surgical training at Charite University Medical Center in Berlin, Germany upon graduating from medical school, Dr. Ali Khoynezhad subsequently completed a cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center in New York City. Five years after practicing at the University of Nebraska and Creighton University Medical Center, he was named Associate Professor of Cardiovascular Surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in 2010. Currently the Director of Thoracic Aortic Surgery, Co-Director of the Atrial Fibrillation Program, and Professor of Surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Dr. Ali Khoynezhad offers state-of-the-art treatment options for patients with complex cardiac and aortic problems, while also being followed on a regular basis in clinic according to the national guidelines.

He hopes to expand the current aortic program at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center to become the premier location for treatment of aortic patients in the nation, and he enjoys mentoring the future cardiovascular surgeons, while leading a cardiac program by improving the quality of medical care, reducing cost, and advancing the surgical science.

    Dr. Khoynezhad completed his residency at North Shore University-Long Island Jewish Health System, and Albert Einstein College of Medicine at New York. He has served as the principal investigator on 12 clinical trials, three of which he serves as national or international principle investigator. He has invented and patented technologies in aortic surgery and transcatheter valve replacement that have great potential in reducing mortality and morbidity in a large patient population. A member of American association for Thoracic Surgery and Society of University Surgeons, he has been named to the Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare and to America's Leading Surgeons/America's Top Surgeons and was the editor and founder of The Vascular Portal of CTSNet.
