  • Decatur, IL (1888PressRelease) May 08, 2015 - Cara Welton, Individual Provider for the State of Illinois, Department of Human Services, has been selected as an Honored Member of the Covington Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry.

    Beginning her career in 1989 as a caretaker for handicapped boy at the age of 29, Cara Welton was living in Mattoon, Illinois at the time. She fed, bathed, and assisted him with everyday living needs in an effort to keep him out of a nursing home. Now, all these later, she is caring for a 46-year-old woman who suffers from disabilities due to a stroke. She does housework and every other aspect necessary to help keep her as independent as possible.

    "I have been involved in this career for 26 years now," Ms. Welton said. "I have a great ability to communicate and understand peoples' needs. I full-heartedly enjoy helping people. My desire is to help others live their lives the best way possible and it motivates me. Knowing that I can help them live a little easier is something I look forward to."

    Ms. Welton plans to continue caring for others and providing assistance wherever and whenever she can. Notably, Ms. Welton is a 1979 graduate of Mattoon High School.
