  • (1888PressRelease) October 02, 2013 - Covershocks is the artist name for Northern Irish dance music DJ/producer Paul Duffy.

He has just released the first single 'Club 21' from his new album 'Cold Calling'. This track is an electro - disco floor filler with some turntable tricks thrown in for the hipster kids while the B-Side 'Music Power' is a straight up house track perfect for Ibiza's closing parties or some of the countries' more soulful dancefloors.

Overall Covershocks music is a mix of electronic funk, soul, dance beats and funky drum breaks. This stems from his career as a DJ that began in his late teens. Since then Duffy has spun with some of the best in the industry including Groove Armada,Mr Scruff, Afrika Bambaataa and a long list of others that encompass the world of club music. This ranges from upfront house music DJ's through to hip hop & funk heavyweights in venues from London's Shoreditch & Camden through to underground clubs in Belfast and beyond.

Most of the album was written in Northern Ireland with extra collaborations and tracks happening in the capital and a few other cities around England. Many collaborations with singers and other musicians have made this possible as well as an archive of beats and sounds that create the soulful gems you can hear on their website. DJ Jon Kennedy released Covershocks first E.P. last year. Since then it has received airplay from the likes of 1xtra, BBC 6 and several other networks across Europe. Other highlights include an Adidas ad featuring Leo Messi & Friends ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ovi0oTOQPhc) , plays on MTV & Westwood's 'Pimp My Ride' as well as more conservative soundtracking on the National Geographic station. Something for everyone really!

Praise over the years has come from the likes of Groove Armada's Tom Findlay,Professor Green, Ty & breakbeat DJ Krafty Kuts - undoubtedly some of the best people in the industry. In addition stateside recognition has come from grammy winner DJ Kenny Dope (M.A.W.) and a few other respected DJ's on the international circuit. We anticipate Covershocks 'Decks & FX' club sets should really do the business around the country: packing in years of experience and knowledge to rock dancefloors with the sounds of now and the dance music's past. The future is another story have a listen and hear why...
