COREX-Honeycomb celebrates 25 years of success

  • (1888PressRelease) February 02, 2013 - The UK-based producer of aluminium honeycomb core will be marking two and a half decades of success.

    The parent company was established in 1988 and has since expanded into a highly successful British enterprise with a worldwide presence and customer base. In the last year, it continued to grow despite the difficult economic climate, increasing its exports in the region of 11.5%.

    Its COREX division, which was established in 2003, was awarded accreditation to BS EN 9100 at the start of 2012, allowing it to market its strong and lightweight aluminium honeycomb to the aerospace sector.

    Managing Director Dr Mike Ashmead says:

    We owe our success to innovation, flexibility and a can-do attitude. We also believe that learning and continuous development is incredibly important.

    COREX-Honeycomb currently exports to more than 25 countries as well as supplying honeycomb to a large number of customers in the UK. The division is involved in a range of projects in industries including construction/building, marine, architecture and rail.

    Apart from its major activities, COREX prides itself in supporting future engineers by sponsoring student race teams. This year COREX has opted to sponsor Team Bath Racing, from the University of Bath's renowned mechanical engineering department, in the upcoming racing season.

    COREX-Honeycomb is looking forward to a promising year ahead with the upcoming anniversary celebrations as well as the exciting opportunity for future growth through the establishment of a presence in the aerospace industry.
