  • (1888PressRelease) February 08, 2011 - Computer Zone, a leading provider of software and services for medical organizations, announced today that 2010 was a very successful year as the company set sales records and added new solutions to its portfolio. The company cited increased mindshare among medical practices and the initial effects of the ARRA stimulus incentives as drivers of its continuing success.

Record Sales - Computer Zone logged record sales of Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Practice Management (PM) software along with billing services and technical support and training. Total sales came in at 60 percent more in 2010 than in 2009 and sales accelerated through the year with fourth quarter revenue dramatically higher, year over year.

New Hires - The Company also added new staff in a number of areas including sales, technical services and billing services. Total employee count increased by over 20 percent and included new sales director, Jim Dufrense.

New Products - Computer Zone dramatically increased its product portfolio by adding inpatient EHR products from Prognosis Health Information Systems. Prognosis specializes in software for rural and community hospitals and offers its products via an innovative cloud or SaaS model.

New EHR Conversion Services - Computer Zone now can assist medical practices with migrating their data from older EHR and PM systems, and enabling them to convert to newer systems that are easier to use and compliant with current standards. Its methodology allows for a seamless conversion of existing records; ensuring data integrity and enabling practices to efficiently move to a system that better meets their requirements.

"We are pleased to report that as a company Computer Zone continues to grow rapidly and outperform the competition," said Sandy Huggins, vice president of Computer Zone. "While the stimulus and other factors helped to fuel this growth, we believe that our expertise and dedication to our customers were the key factors in making 2010 a record year for us."
