  • (1888PressRelease) October 15, 2010 - Cheyenne, WY -- The strength of a community is intrinsically tied to the vitality of the small business community. With that idea in mind, CollegeAmerica's Cheyenne campus continues its "Meet Your Neighbors" campaign this year as a means to strengthen the fabric of Cheyenne's small business network. The campaign's latest event was hosting a Fall Festival for a local daycare.

The event, held last Saturday, was a private function held for the parents of I Am a Promise daycare. Parents and children wore costumes and enjoyed a morning of trick or treating, face painting, cookie decorating, and games. Additionally, each child took home a personally selected pumpkin from a pumpkin patch right on the campus.

As an important part of the Cheyenne community, CollegeAmerica initiated the "Meet Your Neighbors" campaign as a grassroots way to connect local businesses. "The first year of the campaign will focus on building partnerships and hosting events with the campus's immediate neighbors," said Debbi Potts, Executive Director at the Cheyenne campus.

"Our campus is ingrained in this community. Many of our students are employed by local businesses, on top of earning a degree. Making an investment in local businesses reflects the core values of CollegeAmerica. We look forward to partnering with our other neighbors to strengthen the small business community in Cheyenne," said Potts.

Potts added that she hopes to expand the program over the coming years by hosting annual signature events as well as events tailored to each business's unique offerings.
