  • (1888PressRelease) August 09, 2011 - CollegeAmerica announced today the launch of its GED Test tutoring program statewide. Complimentary GED Test tutoring is now available at all CollegeAmerica campus locations, including Flagstaff and Phoenix. The tutoring program is offered at no cost and is designed to help bring enrollees without a diploma a step closer to obtaining their dream jobs, by helping them earn the GED credential required to start college.

A GED Academy article shows that 39 million Americans do not have a high school diploma.1 Additionally, U.S. Census Bureau data shows that unemployment rates are tied directly to levels of educational attainment, and more than 15 percent of people without a high school diploma are unemployed.2

CollegeAmerica GED Test tutoring will provide the following benefits:
    • Knowledgeable instructors
    • Flexible tutoring hours
    • Individual attention
    • Complimentary study tools
    • Motivational support system
    • Targeted practice exams
    • GED Test registration assistance

As an additional benefit, when students are ready to take their GED Test, CollegeAmerica will cover the cost of their test fee.

The program was launched in 2009 at the Stevens-Henager Provo/Orem campus in Utah, an affiliate of CollegeAmerica. Due to the popularity of the program, all CollegeAmerica campuses in Arizona, Colorado (Denver-main, Colorado Springs-branch, and Fort Collins-branch) and Wyoming (Cheyenne-branch), and affiliated campuses in California (California College San Diego-main, National City-satellite of CCSD), Idaho (Stevens-Henager College Idaho Falls-branch*, Boise-branch, and Nampa-satellite of Boise), and Utah (Stevens-Henager College Ogden/West Haven-main, Logan-branch, Salt Lake City/Murray-branch, St. George-branch, Layton-satellite of Ogden/West Haven and Lehi-satellite of Provo/Orem) will offer GED Test tutoring.

"Earning a GED diploma can be regarded as the critical first step to gaining the real-world knowledge and skills necessary for a career in today's marketplace," said Suzanne Scales, regional director at CollegeAmerica, Arizona. "The goal of the GED Test program is to make taking that first step more accessible."

Students can be tutored in all the GED Test areas, including English, Social Studies, Science, and Math. For more information, visit www.GEDTutoring.org. The GED Test program is a community service and is not an accredited program.
