  • New York, NY (1888PressRelease) August 23, 2011 - Cloudsoft Corporation, a provider of cloud computing software and services that drive application mobility, today announced the appointment of Shawn Findlan to the company's Board of Directors. Findlan, managing partner and founder of West Avenue Capital, was most recently a member of Cloudsoft's Advisory Board, providing support for the executive team to help Cloudsoft meet increasing market demand for cloud computing software and services, particularly among the financial services industry.

"Financial services firms today need to resolve global scale and distribution challenges while maintaining their data integrity, but are often bottlenecked by legacy systems and staggering costs," said Shawn Findlan, managing partner and founder of West Avenue Capital. "Cloudsoft is uniquely positioned to help these firms develop and implement sophisticated global cloud computing strategies that will allow them to liberate their applications and reduce operational and reputational risk."

Findlan brings more than 20 years of first-hand experience within the financial services, emerging technologies and infrastructure sectors. Prior to founding West Avenue Capital, Findlan served as executive director and global head of Strategic Engineering and Architecture at Morgan Stanley. Earlier in his career, he held roles as vice president of Global Infrastructure and Innovation for Credit Trading at J.P. Morgan Chase, as well as infrastructure manager for Global Credit Risk Management and Global Derivatives. Findlan maintains active involvement on several boards in addition to Cloudsoft, as well as his current advisory roles with Vyatta and Novasparks.

"Shawn has already proven to be a valuable asset to Cloudsoft in a non-executive capacity and his vision and industry knowledge make him a natural choice as a non-executive director," said Duncan Johnston-Watt, founder and CEO, Cloudsoft. "As a member of our Advisory Board, he has been integral in advancing Cloudsoft's strategy and helping us articulate the advantage of an elastic application fabric as a key component of an enterprise or hybrid cloud strategy. Joining our Board is the logical next step for both Shawn and Cloudsoft."

    About Cloudsoft Corporation
Cloudsoft Corporation is a venture-backed software company dedicated to ensuring that enterprises can apply the benefits of cloud computing to the large-scale, distributed, transactional systems that underpin their business. Utilizing Intelligent Application Mobility, the foundation of Cloudsoft's Monterey platform, they can rapidly overcome roadblocks to cloud adoption and migrate their business critical workloads into the cloud. Currently Monterey supports both the Eclipse Classic and the SpringSource Tool Suite development environments. Monterey extends VMware's vFabric Cloud Application Platform, enabling the logical partitioning vFabric applications into discrete components and managing the dynamic deployment and migration of these components at runtime within and across clouds - private or public - with no disruption or interruption to service. It is the only solution that is geographically aware and automatically optimizes infrastructure utilization and governance based on policies.

The Monterey Developer Edition is available free of charge as either a download bundled with Eclipse Classic or as an Eclipse Plugin. This edition allows developers to build, run and manage Monterey applications or services in either a simulator or, using their own credentials, in public clouds such as Amazon EC2 or GoGrid.
