  • Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater, FL (1888PressRelease) December 07, 2018 - The Clearwater Community Volunteers (CCV) Center has started gathering presents to donate to local foster families for the annual Holiday Fun for Foster Children event, located inside Winter Wonderland of Downtown Clearwater. The Center is accepting new unwrapped presents for children of all ages, so that every child can experience the Holidays with a present of their own. Anyone can drop off a gift donation at CCV Center reception desk, which is open every day from 10am to 10pm.

“I remember the joy my children experienced when I gave them presents on Christmas. We do events like these because it breaks my heart to know that some children not even 30 minutes away from my house won’t get that joy on Christmas,” said Pam Ryan-Anderson, Executive Director of the Clearwater Community Volunteers. “To be able to provide that joy is priceless. It’s what the Holidays are all about.”

The event will take place on the 15th of December from 1pm to 4pm. Families may attend by RSVP’ing through their respective foster children association, or through CCV Center by calling the main line.

“I’m happy to say that for the last 4 years I have worked with the Clearwater Community Volunteers to collect toys for the Christmas for Foster Children event,” said Clemence Chevrot, Director of the Clearwater Community Volunteers Center. “Without it some of the children would go without presents,”

Outside of this special event, Winter Wonderland will be open every day from 6pm to 9pm through December 22nd, except on Mondays and Tuesdays. Admission is free but there is a small charge for some activities and the food items in the Hot Chocolate Shop (cash-only transactions).
