  • Cleveland-Lorain-Elyria, OH (1888PressRelease) October 07, 2011 - Classroom Antics, a leading provider of technology day camps in Ohio, is launching a new Scratch Programming Day Camp focused on teaching kids how to create their own interactive stories, animations, games, music, and art.

The Scratch Programming language is unlike most programming languages, because it is visual, block-based not text based. This makes the learning process much easier and less frustrating to young programmers.

At Classroom Antics, we have found that kids not only want to interact with technology, they want to understand it and manipulate it. Once a child understands the basic principals of a technology, the first thing they begin to do is try to use it to make their own creations from it. We have found this to be true with our all of our other technology program offerings, Video Game Design, Robotics, and Stop-Motion Animation, and we feel that the Scratch Programming Day Camp is another offering that will allow kids to both learn and create using technology while having fun.

Scratch is developed by the Lifelong Kindergarten Group at the MIT Media Lab, with financial support from the National Science Foundation, Microsoft, Intel Foundation, MacArthur Foundation, Google, Iomega and MIT Media Lab research consortia.

Classroom Antics is a Cleveland, Ohio based leading provider of technology education to kids that was developed to inspire, excite, and enrich the lives of children in today's technology world, and to deliver educational hands-on programs that promote creativity and teamwork in the safest environment possible.
