  • Philadelphia, PA-NJ (1888PressRelease) August 20, 2010 - Citrin Cooperman & Company, LLP, was recently ranked the 31st largest accounting firm in the United States based on net revenue, up two places from 2009 according to Inside Public Accounting, a leading trade newsletter for the industry, in its 20th annual Top 100 Firms report.

The firm has consistently been one of the fastest-growing accounting and business consulting firms in the United States. 2009 was a busy year for Citrin Cooperman as the firm added Chris Hegarty and the partners from Carrow, Doyle & Associates in Philadelphia to provide more depth to the region, now the firm's second largest office. David B. Bruckman, JD, MS Tax, joined as partner-in-charge of the Wealth Management group. Alan A. Schachter joined as partner in the Valuation & Forensic Services Group, in charge of the Southport, Conn., office. David Seiden joined in 2010 to head the firm's State and Local Tax (SALT) division.

Citrin Cooperman is the sixth-largest accounting firm headquartered in New York, excluding the Big 4 firms. The firm also has a large presence in Philadelphia, Springfield, N.J., White Plains, N.Y., and Southport, Conn.

In this latest ranking, the firm increased its revenues to $90 million in 2009, an increase of five percent over 2008's revenues. Combined with a nine percent jump in 2008 and a 12.5 percent revenue increase in 2007, Citrin Cooperman has grown more than 26 percent over the last three years. Consistent growth has been a hallmark of Citrin Cooperman, which had revenues of just $18 million in 2000.

Among the top 30 firms in the IPA report, only two had a higher percentage growth increase in 2009. In a tough economy, while Citrin Cooperman was growing five percent, 21 of the top 30 firms saw a decrease in their yearly revenue.

"Despite the economy, we continued to successfully grow our firm in 2009 thanks in large part to the commitment of our partners, professionals and staff," said Joel Cooperman, the firm's co-founder and managing partner. "We continued to add in strategic acquisitions and talented people in order to provide our clients with the breadth and depth of resources they need to succeed in this challenging environment."

The firm now employs 85 partners and more than 240 professionals.
