The program provides annual grants of $1,000 to students near the firm's offices in Philadelphia, White Plains, N.Y., New York City, and Springfield, N.J.

    One of the eight scholarship recipients, Cathiana Laguerre-Joseph, hails from Philadelphia. The 17-year-old graduated from Martin Luther King High School in June 2010 and plans to use the scholarship to attend Temple University in the fall. She will receive $1,000 per year for a total of $4,000.

    In its fifth year, Citrin Cooperman's college grant program awards scholarships based on academic achievement and a strong desire to pursue a career in the accounting or business field. In order to continue to receive the grant, the students must be enrolled in college, take at least 12 credits each semester, and maintain a 2.75 GPA. Students are interviewed and chosen by the firm's scholarship committees in its Philadelphia, Manhattan, White Plains, and New Jersey offices.
