  • Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, NC (1888PressRelease) September 20, 2012 - Compliance Implementation Services (CIS), a leading life sciences consulting firm, today announced the launch of a new program providing executive-level educational workshops through its participation in three premier regional events for the biotech industry-BioPharm America (September 19-21), Mid-Atlantic Bio Conference (September 27-28), and Biotech 2012: Find. Fund. Facilitate (October 22).

CIS' educational program covers a wide variety of topics on clinical compliance and commercial issues facing emerging and small biopharm organizations. The topics-which range from clinical vendor oversight, to building a compliance program, contracting strategies, and government program market access-educate executives on the processes needed for a compliant business and the options available for commercial success.

The workshops also address a growing trend in which emerging companies are determining that a large pharma partner is not necessarily required for success in the US market and are pursuing their own commercialization strategies. "For executives who are considering in-house or out-sourced commercialization, it's important to have baseline knowledge of clinical and commercial compliance requirements, contracting strategies, and Government Programs participation.

CIS' educational workshops provide this insight while explaining the commercialization options, activities, and associated risks, all within a timeline format that helps executives understand what they need to know, when they need to know it," said Chris Cobourn, Senior Vice President, Commercial Compliance at CIS. "We are pleased to offer this opportunity to educate executives and to help them in furthering their business goals."

CIS' participation in BioPharm America, Mid-Atlantic Bio, and Biotech 2012 builds on the firm's strategic affiliation with regional BIO groups that support the firm's clients. CIS is a member of the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council,
Pennsylvania BIO, and San Francisco-based BayBio and plans to expand its BIO presence and memberships in 2013 to further support its growing client base on the East and West Coasts.
