  • Albany, GA (1888PressRelease) November 14, 2012 - Those who want to practice as substance abuse counselors can now apply for substance abuse counseling certification offered by the AICHP as well as continuing education and fellowship courses to enhance their skills in this chosen field.

    According to an AIHCP representative, the substance abuse counseling certification can be taken advantage of by professionals who have completed 215 hours in continuing education courses and have prior knowledge and experience in the field of psychology, social work, counseling, human services, or human behavior. Once qualified, those who have met the requirements will then be assessed by the peer advisory board to determine whether or not a certification is in order. Successful applicants will in turn be issues a large-sized Certificate from the AIHCP and will have the corresponding authority to use CSAP credentials after their names.

    Those who have completed 250 hours' worth of continuing education programs on the other hand are qualified to apply for care management certification under AIHCP. Those who are in the field of nursing, social work, medicine, and other related fields are encouraged to apply for certification as this can add to the experience and learning needed to perform more efficiently. Those who have met the requirements are also evaluated based on their credentials and are given a Certificate upon successfully passing the assessment of the advisory board. They can also begin to use the appropriate initials after their names once certification is successful.
