  • (1888PressRelease) March 16, 2012 - Backed with encouragement and support from their colleagues, the seven NatWest staff from the Bank’s 118 High Street branch in Cheltenham, are preparing to take part as a team to raise funds for Sports Relief at the mile event at Pittville Park in Cheltenham on 25th March. To spur them on the Bank will add to their fundraising through the Bank’s Community Cashback Award Scheme.

The scheme will match fundraising of up to £250 per team member so the more the Cheltenham team raise the more the Bank will give.

Commenting on their plans, Lemara Hibbert, NatWest’s local CEO for Cheltenham and Gloucester, who will be leading the NatWest '118' team on the day, said: "A few of us were saying that we were going to take part, so we decided to get together to run as a team. Like everyone we just want to do our bit to help such a fantastic cause. Our aim is to raise as much money as possible and we’re delighted that NatWest is going to support our efforts through the Community Cashback Award Scheme."

Anyone who would like to sponsor the NatWest team can call into the High Street branch. Customers and non customers alike are also invited to an informal complimentary cheese and wine evening to be held at the branch on Tuesday 20 March from 5pm-7pm. The aim of the evening is simple - feedback has suggested that customers of the branch value a personal service, so the team wanted to give people the chance to get to know them better in a more informal setting. No booking is required so anyone who is interested in attending should just do so on the evening.
