  • Philadelphia, PA-NJ (1888PressRelease) May 17, 2011 - When you run a small business, there's only one way to increase visibility and profits: through marketing. That's according to Certified Expert, Jennifer Davey, who is using "Entrepreneurs' Do It Yourself Marketing Month" to try to help small businesses discover new ways to market effectively.

Observed in June, "Entrepreneurs' Do-It-Yourself Marketing Month" calls attention the millions of small business owners who do their own marketing everyday to help their companies succeed.

"If you want clients, you need to market," explains Davey. "Many small businesses starting out cannot afford the often high price tag of a marketing firm. But they can learn some of the skills to do it themselves. Davey's business, JJS Coaching LLC, helps small businesses and self employed professionals get clients, build successful businesses and make more income.

"In today's economy, small businesses need to use low-cost, high return on investment marketing tactics that don't take up a lot of time" says Davey. "It's about choosing one or two tactics that your target market responds to and sticking with it. The key is to keep the marketing tactics and message client centered."

Davey shares a few DIY marketing tactics during Entrepreneurs' Do It Yourself Marketing Month:

    1. Have something to giveaway. "Create giveaways that educate potential clients on how to buy in your market, or solve a mini problem and trade it for contact information." says JJS Coaching founder Davey. "Marketing to those who have the problem you solve is the key to keeping marketing costs and time to a minimum".

    2. Automate Marketing. "Reaching out to potential clients over and over again is a lot of work" says the Business Coach and Marketing Strategist. "Use marketing automation tools such as autoresponders, card mailing services and social media tools to automate the scheduled tasks"

    3. Write or Blog. "Clients want to work with a real person, not a nameless, faceless company" explains Davey. "Give them a chance to get to know you and see you're the expert in your field."
