  • Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) September 10, 2010 - Roaring into Woodstock for the World Premiere of his latest film Rocksteady, NAACP Award Winner Cedric Sanders will race across the silver screen as stock car driver BC Cook. This coming of age dramedy set against a heavy reggae soundscape premieres Friday Oct. 1 at 7:00 pm in the Bearsville Theater at Woodstock and screens again Sat, Oct 2 at 2:15 pm.

"Director Mustapha Khan gets superb performances from the young cast, especially from Cedric Sanders … "Rocksteady" is guaranteed to delight all who see it." - Jacob Brades (Woodstock Film Festival Reviewer)

Sander's says his character in Rocksteady was refreshing to portray. "[BC] is a young man who's at a point where he doesn't know what to do with his life. He re-discovers his passion for stock car racing and goes for the big time. It really forced me to get out of my comfort zone and play a fun, light-hearted character and the best part was driving the cars."

Racing to the finish of a great year, Sander's has several other feature films releasing this season. This October you will see Sanders in the highly anticipated The Social Network, featured opposite Hollywood's new "It" girl Rooney Mara. He also stars as 50 Cent's younger brother in the upcoming family drama Things Fall Apart (the one he lost all the weight for). Currently you can watch Sanders in his lead role opposite Oscar Winner Lou Gossett Jr. in the film The Least Among You (recently released on Lionsgate DVD - in stores nationwide). His performance as Richard Kelly in the film won him a Best Actor Award at the San Diego Black Film Festival. His stage role in A Matter of Honor won him the NAACP award for best acting in 2008.

    About ROCKSTEADY:
BC has big dreams. A talented young driver, he wishes to go to LA and turn
his hobby into a job, but his mother's mounting financial concerns are about
    to ruin this dream.

Set to a reggae soundtrack featuring acting and musical performances by
Grammy award-winner, Steel Pulse, Rocksteady follows a young man's journey over the course of a racing season, but more importantly of self-discovery and growth.
