FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich.  – CCE, a leading provider of mechanical & electro-mechanical design and engineering services, has announced that one of its strategic customers, Weather Shield, a leading manufacturer of high-end windows and doors received Architectural Record’s 2019 Record Product Award for its NEXT GEN Sliding Patio Door.

Weather Shield announced late last year that the Contemporary Collection Next Gen Sliding Patio Door was chosen by the publication Architectural Record as a 2019 Record Product Award winner in the window and door category. An independent panel of designers and architects combed through hundreds of building product submissions and narrowed it down to 65 winners across eight categories, with the Best in Category receiving top numerical rankings.

This new door from Weather Shield is transforming the sliding door category with larger sizes, improved overall performance, superior operation and an advanced low-profile sill design. While other sliding doors may force consumers to make choices between narrow profiles and higher performance, this re-imagined design delivers both.

“We’re honored to have our NEXT GEN sliding patio door recognized by Architectural Record. This award is validation of the team’s hard work, dedication, and ingenuity that culminated in this innovative product. As we reflect on those that were instrumental in the development of this product, CCE is one such partner and deserves recognition. They have been a dependable engineering partner that works closely to support our in-house engineering team. I’m confident this is just the beginning of a successful partnership,” said Chris Schield, Vice President of Marketing at Weather Shield.

CCE has been working with Weather Shield providing valuable engineering product design support for this NEXT GEN Sliding Patio Door for well over a year. CCE engineers assisted Weather Shield’s team in various phases of product development from initial concepts all the way to manufacturing drawings.

“These are exciting times for us. We are very happy for Weather Shield. They have been a true market leader in high-end doors and windows for years now. This award cements their place in this segment. To know that we have been able to contribute to their success in some little way is very gratifying. It also proves that engineering collaboration, when done right, with the right partner and tools yields rich dividends,” said Vinay Wagle, CCE’s V.P. Sales & Marketing.
