  • San Diego, CA (1888PressRelease) November 29, 2011 - In a ceremony held on Nov. 10 at the California Center for the Arts in Escondido, Tamara Ogg was named a "Volunteer of the Year" by the North County Philanthropy Council. For three years, Tamara Ogg has served on the Pacific Ridge School Annual Fund and Breaking New Ground committees. She quickly established herself as an integral part of the school's fundraising efforts and helped the nonprofit, independent school reach 100 percent participation in its annual fund campaign in years past.

Ogg is the parent of tenth- and twelfth-grade students at Pacific Ridge School and has dedicated her time and talents to driving the school's annual fund campaign contributions and Breaking New Ground fundraising efforts. Pacific Ridge School's annual fund supports operational expenses, while the Breaking New Ground campaign funds the expansion of the school campus to meet the demand of a growing student population. Pacific Ridge School broke ground on the first phase of the expansion plan last year, which included a new synthetic turf athletic field and a permanent, energy-efficient high school building. The second phase, which broke ground earlier this year, includes a 35,236 square foot Athletic Center, complete with a state-of-the-art weight and conditioning room, three regulation basketball courts, training room, dance/yoga studio, offices and locker rooms, bleachers and an outdoor viewing deck.

For the third year in a row, a Pacific Ridge School parent and volunteer has earned the NCPC "Volunteer of the Year" award. The North County Philanthropy Council is an association of professionals, board members and volunteers of non-profit organizations serving North San Diego County communities. It provides education and training in fundraising and leadership development, promoting the values of philanthropy, fostering communication among those in the non-profit sector, and recognizing individuals whose efforts have "made a difference" in our communities.
