Over the past ten years, BritWeek has become a global forum that highlights British excellence and influence in films television, music, fine art, street art, fashion, cuisine, architecture, design, automotive, computer science and sport. "BritWeek's Tenth Anniversary is shaping up to be the best celebration we have ever had of the great creative love affair between L.A. and the U.K.", said BritWeek Chairman Bob Peirce. " We are looking forward to over 40 events and to seeing everyone at the biggest ever BritWeek party at the Fairmont Miramar on May 1st."

    The two week long Celebration will open this year's program with a night of Murder, Lust, & Madness, in honor of BritWeek's 10th and Shakespeare's 400th anniversary. "Shakespeare is every actor's first love," says Bob Peirce, Founder and Chairman of BritWeek "and this wickedly delicious entertainment will show why as we honor the Bard's understanding of human nature." The all-star cast of 27 actors includes Ioan Gruffudd, Joely Fisher, Stacy Keach, Michael York, Jimmy Akingbola and many others. The evening is directed by Shakespeare scholar Louis Fantasia.

    In addition to the sold out, one night only performance of Murder, Lust & Madness at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills, BritWeek will present around 40 events throughout Los Angeles and Orange County, California during the two-week celebration.     On April 27th, BritWeek and the UK Government honor the best in the "Axis of Innovation" between California and the UK with the BritWeek Business Innovation Awards. Not only will the winners be announced at the Intercontinental Hotel awards dinner, but American Idol creator Simon Fuller will be honored for his immense contribution to the US entertainment industry. Closing out BritWeek 2016 will be a black tie gala at the famed Fairmont Miramar Hotel in Santa Monica on May 1, 2016, where guests will walk the red carpet and mingle with celebrities under the theme, "British Invasion". The Gala will include performances and desserts created by the late Princess Diana's personal chef with desserts fit for the Royals!

    During the past decade, BritWeek has honored some of the UK's finest creative and business minds, from automotive designer Ian Callum and Sir Richard Branson to Julian Fellowes and the cast of Downton Abbey. Performers at the annual BritWeek gala have included Seal, Katherine Jenkins and Peter Asher among other legendary figures.
