Breast Cancer Awareness Month Kicks Off With PiNK Photography Art Reception

  • Oakland, CA (1888PressRelease) September 09, 2011 - GZ | S o u l y e Studios|Showroom|Gallery is hosting a number of events in support of Breast Cancer Awareness month starting October 1st with a photography art exhibit entitled "PiNK". "This month long exhibit is an extension of our breast cancer awareness campaign which seeks to benefit the Sharon Randolph Foundation," says curator Curtis Jermany.

    The Sharon Randolph Foundation was founded by Sherron Hogg, Stacy Hogg and Sedric Gadson, who started their foundation in 2004 after losing their mother to breast cancer on June 16, 2000. The foundation is geared to directly help those who are suffering with this disease on a daily basis. Some of the programs include the hardship program, early mammogram detection, and a hair replacement program.

    GZ | Soulye is a collaboration between GZ PhotoZ.com Photography and Zarif Soulye, a shoe design and showroom.

    "Zarif Soulye is passionate about breast cancer research," said Jowhari Trahan. "As breast cancer has touched the lives of many people, it's imperative to live and learn healthy living and lifestyle. As in the shoe collection, Zarif soulye supports cancer research thru donating 1/2 of proceeds from sales on "pink" womens footwear to local non-profit organizations. October's featured event is scheduled to carry four styles of pink shoes where 1/2 of proceeds from every sale will be donated to the Sharon Randolph Foundation."

    The exhibit "PiNK" features 5 bay area artists, some of whom have agreed to donate pieces to be later auctioned off at the end of the month. It serves as a collaborative of photographic art for a cause.

    Sherron and Stacy Hogg, the two founders of the Sharon Randolph foundation have turned grief into glory.

    Sherron and Stacy started their breast cancer foundation in 2004 after losing their mother to "the fight" on June 16, 2000.

    The Sharon Randolph Foundation has three components that were created based on actual experiences with their mother; the Mammogram, Non-Surgical Hair Replacement and Hardship Programs.
