  • (1888PressRelease) October 07, 2011 - Nottinghamshire based online marketing company, Boom Online Marketing, are thrilled to announce the finalisation of their sponsorship of the nationwide charity run, The Poppy Run.

In line with Boom's history of charitable acts, Boom will be offering their services with no financial remuneration in order to raise awareness of The Poppy Run and its causes.

The next Poppy Run is to be held in seven locations across the country on the 30th of October 2011, with the funds raised going towards The Poppy Appeal.

The Poppy Run was founded in 2003 by athletics coach and retired soldier, Peter Arnott. The event was held annually in the Lincolnshire town of Boston until this year, for which the 30th of October is to see the charities first nationwide event.

After a number of meetings between Boom and Poppy Run organiser Peter Arnott, it was decided that Boom would utilise their knowledge and expertise to promote The Poppy Run and thus The Poppy Appeal through a diverse range of online avenues.

Boom are renowned for their experience in all aspects of online marketing; from search engine optimisation and pay per click through to conversion rate optimisation.

Boom will concentrate their efforts in the sphere of social media, using various community sites to promote awareness of the Poppy Run and its excellent work.

Joint director at the firm, Robert Deans, will be taking his efforts one step further to partake in the race itself. He said; "as well as demonstrating my on-going and committed support of The Poppy Appeal, running the race is a personal challenge to myself, and something that I hope to repeat in the near future."

"Giving something back is incredibly important to us, thus this is the second time we have contributed to charitable causes, having donated as a company to both the NSPCC and Cancer Research last Christmas. We built our company on ethical values and supporting good causes is just one of the ways that our values show through in our business practices."

While this is the first nationwide Poppy Run, plans are already in place to hold further races in the future. In fact, The Poppy Run is looking for charitable volunteers who wish to get involved in hosting a Poppy Run in their local area.

Volunteers are also needed to help with organising the day's events for this coming run. Those interested in partaking in the race, organising a race in their local area or helping out on the 30th of October can find more details at www.poppy-run.com/locations.
