  • Yuma, AZ (1888PressRelease) December 08, 2010 - Mark DeYoung, author of The Fruit of Teaching, is hosting a book signing on December 8, 2010 from 6:30pm to 7:30 pm at First Christian Church, 3261 South Avenue 6E in Yuma.

The book, which focuses on teacher strategies from inside the classroom, offers comic relief and inspiring techniques based on a nine week study. In the study, DeYoung looks beyond how the teachers honor the academics by suggesting the concept of teaching the love of the Lord through the fruit of the spirit. According to DeYoung, when the students see their students exhibiting the fruit, they just may follow in the lead, making the students better listeners and more well-behaved. It narrows in on peace and harmony, self-control, faith, patience, kindness, and a host of other positive qualities displayed by students as a result of "exhibiting the fruit".

DeYoung, an elementary school teacher at Yuma School District, has been teaching for the past six years, since 2004. He was recently named Intermediate Teacher of the Year through Yuma County in 2010. He earned his degree in elementary education from the University of Arizona in 2004.
