  • (1888PressRelease) January 28, 2014 - Bodegas y Viñedos Luminis, a boutique winery and vineyard estate located in Mendoza, Argentina, announces the launch of Luminis, the latest series in a portfolio of appellation specific wines. Luminis focuses specifically on Estate wines from the historic region of Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza. Together with the winery's other lines- Allamand and H - Luminis completes the portfolio of site-specific wines now available in select U.S. markets.

"I want to let each vineyard speak for itself through the wines I make," stated viticuluralist and winemaker Cristian Allamand "in order to do that, you must spend more time working the land than at the winery. I hope the U.S. consumers can taste that." Bodegas y Viñedos Luminis, whose first vintage was introduced to the U.S. market in 2011, focuses on wines that exemplify the unique characteristics that come from the different wine growing regions of Mendoza, Argentina. "The discussion of Mendoza used to be all about the grape, but now, finally, the conversation is moving towards the diversity of the land. Our goal is to show that through our portfolio of wines" added Martin Castro, Founder and Managing Partner.

Bodegas y Viñedos Luminis owns and manages 125 acres of vineyards in both Luján de Cuyo and in Valle de Uco. Two distinct lines of wines with different brand names were created in order to help the consumer identify a strong sense of place. The Allamand series of wines highlight the Valle de Uco region of Mendoza. The Luminis wines express the character of the Luján de Cuyo region. The limited H line represents the purest expression of Cristian Allamand as a viticulturist and winemaker, and showcases only exceptional vintages. The entire portfolio of wines is sourced from Estate vineyards. The following portfolio is available in select U.S. markets starting January 2014:
