  • Erie, PA (1888PressRelease) January 17, 2012 - Leslie S. Loop, Physical Therapist at Beverly Healthcare, LLC, has been selected as an Honored Member of the Biltmore Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Leslie S. Loop's commitment to excellence in Healthcare and Physical Therapy.

Loop, who holds a Bachelor's Degree in Sports and Exercise Science, a Master's Degree in Physical Therapy and a Doctoral Degree in Psychology, all from Gannon University, and a Master's Degree in Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, began working in her field in 2006. She has held numerous positions, including in both inpatient skilled nursing facilities and outpatient orthopedic clinics.

As a physical therapist, Loop evaluates patients that are new to her facility and are there for either medical or physical/functional mobility reasons. She routinely assesses the functioning of those patients on her caseload and on the caseloads of the physical therapy assistants she supervises. She also performs home assessments, attends continuing education classes to stay current in the field, does marketing, holds informational in-services for co-workers and attends interdisciplinary meetings with patients and family members and other disciplines in the faculty. Loop has worked mostly with the geriatric population and tends to seek out continued education that focuses on them. She recently began studying the cardiopulmonary aspects of rehabilitation and has been gearing her continued education in that direction as well.

In addition to her very successful physical therapy career, Loop has been studying dance since the age of seven. She began performing professionally by 1997 through Dafmark Dance Theater and has been performing ever since. She practices yoga to stay in shape, continuously takes dance classes and rehearses
    as much as possible.

"I knew that I wanted to continue dancing for as long as I could," Loop said. "It was a driving force and I have made many life decisions in order for that to happen."

Hoping to get published in a peer reviewed journal, Loop is currently working on an article that she will be submitting soon in the physical therapy realm. She also aspires to begin teaching at the university level after achieving a post-doctoral degree in rehabilitation or healthcare.

Loop is a member of American Physical Therapy Association, American Psychology Association, Dafmark Dance Theater, Erie Opera Theater and MENSA. When Leslie isn't busy working or dancing, she enjoys reading and baking.
