  • Spokane, WA (1888PressRelease) April 01, 2011 - Kim Stock, Owner of Tri-City Tappers, has been selected as an Honored Member of the Biltmore Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Kim Stock's commitment to excellence in Dance and Performance.

Stock, who studied tap, ballet, modern jazz dance and performance at McKinley Academy of Dance, spent twenty-five years traveling as a dancer both nationally and internationally and was a Las Vegas Showgirl for many of the city's hotels before founding her organization in 1994.

All from home, Stock manages her office duties, bookkeeping, advertising layouts for print and writes copy for radio and television, and also makes personal appearances to promote her classes. She books all of the performances, makes instructional videos for students to help them when they are home, keeps up her website, handles all the distribution aspects of the costumes for shows and choreographs all of the routines that are performed. In total, she teaches five classes a week. "I've always been a take charge person," Stock explained, "so on-the-job training was premier in giving me the expertise I have today."

After becoming inspired to open her dance studio, thanks to a friend asking her to teach tap dancing to senior citizens at her new studio, Stock realized how much she would love to be her own boss as well. After moving to Richland she got her own license to open a business, rented out a space in her town, and began what would now be seventeen years in the making.

Hoping to acquire more and more students to host big city events, Stock would also like to have a permanent venue in which to teach. She'd also like to hire more teachers and a full-time office assistant if the business permits.

Stock is a volunteer for the Children's Developmental Center. She is a former founding member of Rotary International in Central California and is a past member of her local Chamber of Commerce in Central California. Stock also a strong supporter to the Richland Light Opera Company, Academy of Children's Theater, Smile Train and her local Humane Society. In her free time, Kim enjoys spending time with her husband Ed and their animals and going out with friends.
