  • Nashville, TN (1888PressRelease) March 21, 2012 - Karen Lake, Songwriter and Composer for The Entertainer Network, has been selected as an Honored Member of the Biltmore Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Karen Lee Lake-McElroy's commitment to excellence in Entertainment.

Lake, a certified Reiki Healer, began working in her field in 2003 after accompanying her producer on a three state tour of Idaho, Montana and Washington.

As a songwriter and composer, Lake partakes in a variety of different day-to-day tasks. She searches for talent in clubs and karaoke bars, writes articles on concerts and talent on the West Coast and interviews stars of music, especially country, pop, rock and blues. Although her career seems to be all fun, a lot of responsibility goes into traveling and meeting prospects and interesting people. She does a lot of phone and computer work from home, in addition to various other behind-the-scenes tasks.

"Music and writing are my passion," Lake said, "so I combined them into this awesome and very fulfilling career."

Hoping to stay in the entertainment industry for the long haul, Lake would like to write more songs for television, the movies and on-stage. She would also like to write alongside some other songwriters like Willie Nelson and Guy Clark. This summer she will be writing and composing lyrics with the famous yodeler Rod Erickson who lives in Northern Idaho.

Lake is a member of American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. She has written several articles, one of which is a three-page article on world peace that she hopes to have published sometime this year. Lake was nominated for a Canadian Music Award in 2007 for a native inspired world peace song that she wrote and composed and has numerous awards and plaques in her name for her music and poetry. She was also a semi-finalist in a 2010 Song of the Year contest and was runner-up for the song Cowgirl Up. Her greatest achievement was Prophecy Keepers, a song co-created with Bunny Sings Wolf-It of which she also contributed to the lyrics.
