  • Atlanta, GA (1888PressRelease) November 18, 2010 - Janice B. Turber, Chief Financial Officer for The Center for Attachment Resources and Enrichment (C.A.R.E.), LLC, has been selected as an Honored Member of the Biltmore Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry.

Turber, who holds a BA in Sociology from Central State University, followed by a Master's in Counseling Psychology from Central State University, began working as a mental health therapist in 1985.

Working with children for her entire career, Turber spent time in both Oklahoma and Georgia as director of programs and as a therapist supervisor. But it wasn't until partaking in an intensive, one-year training program with partner Barbara S. Fisher, did they become qualified to work with trauma victims and those individuals with attachment disorders.

After completing the program, Turber and Fisher founded C.A.R.E., providing specialized mental health therapy to children, adolescents, and their parents diagnosed with Reactive Attachment Disorder or those who have been traumatized. They also work with adults that have identified themselves as having attachment issues. As CFO, Turber handles all of the company paperwork, serves as an expert witness for the Georgia Court System, and testifies as to the results of evaluations completed by both her and her partner. "Barbara and I have over five hundred hours of training in working with trauma and attachment issues," she explained. "Being able to be part of the healing process for these children and adolescents and their families has been profound. We see a different person at the end of the three days working with them."

Hoping to take her training internationally, as well wanting to educate those therapists wishing to learn more about her field, Turber would also like to co-author a book with her partner in the near future on sound treatment modalities that can be utilized with trauma and attachment disordered individuals.

Turber serves on the board of directors for The Attachment and Trauma Network non-profit organization, is one of the co-founders of Georgia Association for Play Therapy, and is a member of the American Counseling Association. In her free time, Janice enjoys spending time with her family.
