Biltmore Who's Who Selects Jacqueline Tammaro as an Honored Member of the Executive and Professional Registry

- Baltimore, MD (1888PressRelease) October 08, 2010 - Jacqueline Tammaro, Registered Nurse for Solomons Nursing Center, has been selected as an Honored Member of the Biltmore Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry.
Tammaro, who holds an Associate's Degree in Nursing from Prince George's Community College, has been working in her field for the past eleven years, beginning as a Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) just out of high school.
After receiving her GNA certification through her high school, Tammaro later became a registered nurse through her local community college. As a charge nurse, she supervises a unit of 43 to 44 beds at her nursing home, supervises all of the staff, takes care of the residents on the unit, and makes sure that all duties are completed in a timely manner. While doing treatments, she is responsible for tube meds, blood sugars and insulin treatments, wound dressings, and skin care. She's received experience in all fields of nursing, from residents receiving rehab after a post-operative procedure, to those with complete incompetence that require complete care.
Remembering her grandmother, Tammaro recalls, "She was an RN in the obstetrics field in the hospital over fifty years ago. She showed me pictures of her in her uniform and told me stories of many of her experiences. It was then that I became interested in her field and began working toward my GNA in high school." She also remembers being curious when she would see her great grandmother giving herself insulin injections in her belly at the dinner table and being very curious as to what she was doing.
Hoping to finish her bachelor's degree in nursing in the near future, Tammaro also juggles a family with a three-year-old and a five-month-old at home. She is a past member of several National Honor Societies and is currently listed in Who's Who Among High School Students for her scholastic achievements. In her free time, Jacqueline enjoys spending time with her family and playing the clarinet.
