  • San Francisco, CA (1888PressRelease) October 29, 2011 - Cynthia F. Lewis, Family Care Director at Chapel of the Chimes and Memorial Park and Funeral Home, has been selected as an Honored Member of the Biltmore Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Cynthia F. Lewis's commitment to excellence in Funeral Services.

Lewis, who holds a Bachelor's Degree in Theology from Pacific Coast College and has also studied evangelism in previous years, began working at the Chapel six years ago after spending seventeen years working for the Clorox Company.

Having experience working for the cemetery as well, Lewis now focuses her time in the mortuary where she has done everything from arrangements, services, death certificates, and what her Western Operations manager calls "the director of first impressions." She is the first person that their customers speak to and see. She is the family care director, so to speak, and multi-tasks every aspect of the business, from seating customers in arrangement rooms to directing them to the correct chapels or repose rooms for their services, to calling directors and cemetery counselors, answering phones and questions.

Also an ordained minister, Lewis believes it is the love for people and having a compassion for those that are hurting that inspire her in her line of work. Having also lost her mother and best friend, she is easily able to empathize with all of her clients.

"The woman who buried my grandmother and mother was my parent's best friend," Lewis said. "She became my best friend after my mother passed away. She affected my life so much I decided to change my profession in the traffic department of Clorox."

With hopes of continuing in the same line of work and to continue helping those lives affected by loss to cope, Lewis is looking forward to her career ahead. When she isn't busy working, Cynthia enjoys volunteering for the Food Program at Church of All Nations, helping feed the homeless and low income families teaching the bible. She also enjoys traveling in her leisure time.
