  • Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) February 02, 2011 - Ball Up Streetball announces its Tip-Off Game of the season to be held in Venice Beach, California, against a team comprised of the Celebrity All-Star Players from the Entertainment League during NBA All Star weekend on February 19th, 2011.

    Ball Up features one-of-a-kind excitement as the world's best streetball basketball icons play a wide-open style of basketball characterized by acrobatic dunking, passing, and a technique of play that highlights the free-style athleticism of unique basketball performers. Since streetballers have begun touring, their performances have filled arenas throughout the world. Ball Up players garner fans from all walks of life, including children, families, celebrities, and NBA players alike, and this event is sure to be a hit of the NBA All Star Weekend.

    Ball Up CEO Demetrius Spencer previously announced the distribution deal made with Fox Sports Network (FSN) to launch Ball Up Streetball. FSN will broadcast 10 one-hour episodes of live produced streetball games.

    The Ball Up Streetball Team includes many of the best-known streetball players worldwide, such as "Professor" (Grayson Boucher of Oregon), "Bone Collector" (Larry Williams of Los Angeles), "Escalade" (Troy Jackson of New York), "Mr. Afrika" (Anthony Pimble of New York), "Sik Wit It"(Robin Kennedy of Los Angeles), "Air Up There" (Taurian Fontenette of Houston), "AO" (Aaron Owens of Philadelphia), "Springs" (Jamal Nelson of Detroit), "Pat Da Roc" (Patrick Robinson of Maryland and the Washington, DC area), "Violator" (Renaldo Johnson of Atlanta), and "Special FX" (Ryan Williams of New York). The Ball Up players are NBA competitive, some of whom have already played with Division I colleges and/or the NBA.
