  • (1888PressRelease) August 11, 2022 - Redmond, Washington - Avanade and Women In Cloud (WIC), an economic development organization dedicated to advancing gender inclusion in technology, today announced their partnership for the #WICxFortune100 Initiative.

Founded in 2000, Avanade is committed to furthering gender equity in the tech industry by attracting more girls and women to STEM. The #WICxFortune100 Initiative is a program for Fortune 100 corporations to come together to collectively solve gender-equity challenges. WIC is committed to developing the next generation of female entrepreneurs and cloud computing leaders who themselves will promote gender parity.

Female leaders from Avanade have already served as business roundtable advisors for WIC’s signature networking experience WICxInspire, which includes thought-leadership power talks, business bootcamp and curated business development. Later this year, female entrepreneurs and female founders of cloud-based companies and other cloud industry leaders will have the opportunity to connect with Avanade leaders as part of the “Fortune100 Lunch and Learn Series,” which provides participants with cloud industry insights and networking opportunities.

“I have had the honor of speaking at Women in Cloud events previously, and have always been deeply impressed by the organization’s commitment to creating change through representation, recruitment and relationship building,” said Pam Maynard, Avanade CEO. “I am thrilled to formalize our partnership so that we can help further our shared goals in deeper, more impactful ways.”

Through the partnership, Avanade leaders will serve as advisors and speakers in the WIC community, and the two organizations will partner on networking and recruiting initiatives. Geetha Gandhi, part of Avanade’s Technology Leadership Career Path and Global Lead for the Cloud Center of Excellence will service as Avanade’s partnership sponsor.

“Avanade has lent its voice and expertise to our organization for several years, and we are excited to strengthen the relationship,” said Chaitra Vedullapalli, President of Women In Cloud. “I know its status as a global industry leader will provide invaluable opportunities and visibility for the members of our community, and together, we will advance the ESG narrative in the tech ecosystem.”
