Automotive Centre of Excellence Selects Froude Hofmann
Froude Hofmann's engine testing systems have been selected by the prestigious Kangan Institute in Australia and installed in its new training facility for up and coming automotive engineers.
- (1888PressRelease) April 26, 2012 - At the hub of Australia's automotive industry, the Automotive Centre of Excellence (ACE), part of the prestigious Kangan Institute training organisation, is set to become the Southern Hemisphere's largest and most advanced automotive testing and training facility. Thanks to an investment of over AU$20 million, the new centre in Docklands, Melbourne has been equipped with the latest testing technology from international equipment manufacturer, Froude Hofmann.
With expertise in the engine testing industry dating back to late 19th Century, Froude Hofmann was the supplier of choice to ensure that the ACE facility could cater to the varied demands of the industry for engine and vehicle testing. Installed in the state of the art facility are four of Froude Hofmann's world-renowned dynamometers and associated control and data acquisition systems. As well as the standard AG500 dynamometer for testing engines from passenger cars and light commercial vehicles, dynamometers are also installed for testing heavy trucks, lorries and coaches, all-wheel drive vehicles and motorcycles. The company has also supplied an automated brake tester and a complete emissions integration and test automation package. The latter is an essential requirement to test vehicles under accurately simulated road conditions, within a controlled environment, with the ability to accurately measure emissions and fuel economy from the various test cells.
