    This position is rare among retirement communities offering a full continuum of care.     In his position Dr. McCready will operate the Atlantic Shores clinic, and supervise all resident medical care, with direct input to provide outstanding quality. He will work closely with an exceptional team of nurse practitioners, creating continuity of care for each patient. As Attending Physician at Atlantic Shores' skilled nursing facility, Seaside, he will use his skills to closely monitor patients receiving rehabilitation or long-term care. In addition, Dr. McCready will also work with consulting specialists to provide personalized patient care.

    His background includes 41 years as a practicing physician, including military and civil service positions as General Medical Officer for the United States Navy, as well as in his private practice, Great Neck Family Practice, which then became part of Tidewater Medical Group, which merged with Sentara Healthcare.

    Most recently, Dr. McCready served in the physician practice group of Sentara Healthcare in Virginia Beach, as well as at the Hampton VA Medical Center, where he cared for housebound veterans. He also worked at Beth Shalom Village in Virginia Beach, where he evaluated, treated, and provided medical management for resident patients.

    An M.D. graduate of University of Maryland School of Medicine, he holds a Virginia medical license in Active Medicine & Surgery, and is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.
