Maybe you have been thinking about what you can do beyond attic insulation to make your house really energy-efficient. Perhaps you are considering solar panels, but are intimidated about the process and concerned about the costs. Or maybe you would like to know how to make your home greener, but have not had the time to look into it.

If so, come to "Building Blocks for Energy-Efficient Homes" on June 5 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Westchester County Center, White Plains, sponsored by County Executive Robert P. Astorino and the New York League of Conservation Voters Education Fund (NYLCVEF).

"We are very pleased to team up with a prominent organization such as the League of Conservation Voters Education Fund to sponsor this event," said Astorino. "This will be a one-stop place for residents to find out about every aspect of greening their homes. Our goal is to educate residents about cost-efficient, sustainable housing solutions and let them hear from a variety of experts who can guide them through the process."

Marcia Bystryn, president of the NYLCVEF, said: "Many Westchester residents want to save money and make their homes more energy efficient, but the best ways to do so aren't always clear. By connecting residents directly with the experts, we hope to make it easy to go green - and to help homeowners save on their energy bills, too. This should be a great event and we are proud to partner with County Executive Astorino, so please come out and join us."
