  • (1888PressRelease) November 07, 2014 - Award winning robotics & automation supplier, Astech Projects, have announced the launch of their latest robotic metered dose inhaler (MDI) testing system, the Xelair® 5 Series, for testing Dose Content Uniformity of the Emitted Dose.

The new Xelair® 5 System incorporates state of the art robotic technology for device shaking, firing, waste and dose collection as well as dose recovery and automated liquid handling.

The Xelair® 5 eliminates human test variability and offers increased throughput with 24/7 unattended operation, leading to more repeatable and reliable test data.

Astech Projects' Sales and Marketing Director, Anthony Moran commented, "The demand for increased throughput, quality and reliability within the pharmaceutical industry is considerable, and can only be met with the latest robotic Xelair® systems. The new range offers increased capacity for emitted dose collection with the ability to test up to 200 inhaler test shots per day.

The success of our Xelair® range of automated Dose Content Uniformity systems led to Astech being honoured with the Queen's Award for Enterprise: Innovation".
