Located at 3410 Cornerstone Court in Pleasanton, California, the school offers state-of-the-art-classrooms with a park-like atmosphere. The secure and serene campus provides the perfect learning environment for the highly regarded Montessori philosophy.
The Montessori philosophy is a type of educational program developed in 1907 by an Italian educator and physician, Maria Montessori. The program focuses on teaching children in a natural, independent environment that focuses on developmental based learning according to the child's needs.
A Montessori preschool class is a 3 year, mixed-age program allowing each child the opportunity to learn at their own pace. All lessons are taught one-on-one and include hands-on materials, allowing teachers to know the children individually and forming a tight-knit learning community. This also fosters peer to peer teaching that reinforces the lessons and facilitates leadership skills.
The Montessori of Fremont schools are AMI accredited. As new schools are not able to obtain an AMI accreditation upon opening, The Montessori School of Pleasanton is adhering to the stringent AMI standards so that it can obtain the accreditation as early as possible. Not all Montessori schools have AMI accreditation. There is no oversight over the use of the Montessori name, making an AMI accreditation distinctive and valuable.
The Montessori School of Pleasanton serves children ages 18 months to 6 years of age. The school also operates as a licensed daycare facility in California offering before and after school care.
The school's next open house is October 23, 2014 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
