  • (1888PressRelease) December 29, 2010 - The yachts initially congregate at the Royal Phuket Yacht Club in Nai Harn Beach on Phuket's south west coast and then travel north to Pansea Beach, near Surin.

Leading the fleet is the worlds' fastest traditionally powered super yacht; the seventy four metre MY Silver Zwei.

Launched last year, the Silver Zwei is also the world's longest aluminium super yacht and was one of the main attractions at the 2010 Dubai yacht show, held in March this year.

Amongst the vessels arriving in Phuket were the fifty meter S/Y Perseus built by Perini Navi in 2001; the M/Y Maverick II, built by Sterling in 1988; the Thailand-based forty metre M/Y My Lady Arraya built by Oceanfast in 1990; the thirty six metre S/Y Vie Sans Soucis built by Kings Yachts in Taiwan as well as the M/Y Noble House, M/Y Major Affair and M/Y Callavino.

The first day of the event saw yacht owners and captains briefed by Race Director Andy Dowden and Simon James at the Royal Phuket Yacht Club in Nai Harn, followed by a cocktail party hosted aboard the MY Lady Arraya.

Subsequently, the S/Y Perseus had the honour of sailing first across Nai Harn Bay to lead the fleet to Pansea Beach.

The final day of the Asia Super Yacht Rendezvous will include a VIP Boat International Media Group Gala Dinner, held at Pla Seafood on Surin Beach, Phuket.
