  • (1888PressRelease) October 31, 2013 - MILPITAS, CA - Array Networks Inc., a global leader in application delivery networking, today announces that its popular APV5600 application delivery controller now supports even higher levels of SSL performance. Leveraging advancements in SSL hardware acceleration, the APV5600 now supports up to 25,000 2048-bit SSL transactions per second. Moreover, these performance improvements do not affect the price of the APV5600, which now offers the lowest cost 2048-bit SSL TPS on the market. By enhancing SSL performance on the APV5600, Array is helping customers that need to cost-effectively support increasing demand for secure transactions and the increased computing demands of 2048-bit security.

The 2048-bit SSL is the new standard for secure web transactions, application and sessions. The standard is more secure; however it is also five times more compute-intensive as compared to 1024-bit encryption. Since enterprises and service providers cannot afford to pay five times more to support a growing number of users, there is a pressing need for affordable 2048-bit SSL acceleration.

With the Array APV5600, a customer supporting 25,000 1024-bit SSL transactions per second can continue to rely on a mid-priced platform to support the same number of transactions on the new 2048-bit standard. In contrast to the APV5600, ADCs from competing vendors cost up to twice as much and deliver far less. As an example, mid-range solutions from other vendors typically top out at 15,000 2048-bit SSL transactions per second.

"Much of our recent application delivery controller business is directly attributable to enterprises and cloud service providers needing high-performance yet cost-effective 2048-bit SSL acceleration," said Michael Zhao, president and CEO of Array Networks. "The APV5600 is becoming one of our strongest selling products due to its mix of cutting-edge technology, scalability, reliability and affordability."

In addition to the now more powerful APV5600, Array also supports customers with a range of SSL acceleration capacity needs. With the APV10650 which supports up to 70,000 SSL transactions per second (2K) and the APV2600 which supports up to 5,000 SSL transactions per second (2K) Array customers can achieve maximum price-performance and ROI for any size deployment.

"SSL acceleration is an area where Array has historically been strong," said Paul Andersen, director of marketing for Array Networks. "The customer success stories for Array's latest generation APV Series application delivery controllers are stacking up, and I look forward to sharing them in the coming weeks and months."
