  • (1888PressRelease) April 19, 2019 - Combining industrial-grade step and servo motors with on-board drives and controllers, integrated motors save on space, wiring, and cost over conventional motion control axes comprised of separate motor and drive components.

They also offer greater design flexibility and functionality in meeting motion control challenges.

The live webinar event is scheduled for:
    Date: Thursday, May 9th

    New MDX Integrated Servo Motors
Applied Motion Products also recently introduced a new line of MDX Integrated Servo Motors that benefit control, design and robotics engineers by reducing system components, eliminating bulky cables, freeing valuable space, enabling faster design cycles, and saving money. With drive and control electronics housed at the back of the motor, MDX Integrated Servo Motors require no other external electronics package to drive or control the motor.

Eliminating the need for bulky cables to connect the motor to an external drive, MDX Integrated Servo Motors reduce the amount of space needed for motion control axes, providing machine builders more area to accommodate other critical components such as material handling mechanisms, sensors, or operator-interface components. Smaller diameter cables required by integrated servo motors are easier to route and require less space. Daisy chaining communications cables from one integrated motor to the next frees additional space in the control panel by reducing the size of network switches and hubs.

Suited for automation applications including automated test and measurement, automated assembly, packaging machinery, mobile robots and more, MDX Integrated Servo Motors are available in two power ratings, 200- and 400-Watts continuous output power, both in a 60 mm frame size. The motors are optimized for use on 48 volts DC, but can be operated at lower (24) or higher (up to 60) voltages to match the availability of supply voltages already present in the system.
