  • (1888PressRelease) May 12, 2015 - SEATTLE, Washington - In partnership with SAP® Consulting, Applexus Technologies, a leading SAP partner and developer of innovative products for the retail industry, today announced the release of its next-generation solution, the Applexus High Ticket Retailing (HTR), to propel high-value merchandisers to the next level of retailing.

Big-ticket retailers typically have complex product lines and varying promotional offerings with high-dollar, low-volume transactions. Retailers that do not own, or need, a traditional point-of-sale (POS) system often find it difficult to manage day-to-day sales operations. High-value sellers typically require specific sophisticated applications - more than an average POS system - to handle the complicated sales process, credit approvals, delivery and service requirements. The Applexus HTR was developed with these business challenges in mind. HTR can eliminate the need for a stand-alone POS system and help simplify the complex sales and delivery process involved in high-value item transactions. The Applexus HTR is built on top of solutions in the SAP for Retail portfolio and the SAP Fashion Management application; it can provide an array of functionalities including simplification of quote management, sales order management, cash management, in-home route-delivery scheduling, invoice creation and settlement. The HTR solution has an integrated front end for the sales team that does not limit functionality with a back-end system. It provides a simpler user interface that can be branded, and requires minimal training to operate.

Whether tracking each shipment status or allowing visibility to the entire outbound supply chain, HTR raises the bar for high-value retailing. The solution is designed with ease of use in mind, and the interactive SAP UI5 screens support a high-end user experience and customer satisfaction. HTR helps high-value retailers reap rewards faster and easier with insightful reports, and helps them quickly react to future market developments.

The new solution is designed for retailers that specialize in jewelry, bedding, furniture, eyewear, carpet and flooring, high-end fashion and more.

The solution was originally created for Bob's Discount Furniture. SAP and Applexus have packaged the solution and have made it repeatable.

"We are very pleased with the SAP solution that our teams installed at Bob's Discount Furniture five years ago," said Bob's Discount Furniture CIO Paul Butka. "For SAP to decide to release this solution as a repeatable, generally available one for our industry and others is an excellent idea.

"Our ability to take real-time orders at our stores without requiring a traditional POS (point of sale) system is of significant benefit," he added. "Additionally, our sales team is able to see real-time inventory, reserve it on the spot for our customers and immediately provide an accurate delivery date. It's great to be able to accept cash in our ERP system without investing in POS cash registers and software. Our stores are able to close a virtual 'cash drawer' within SAP ERP and balance cash at the end of their shift. Bob's Discount Furniture continues its year-over-year growth. SAP ERP has become the backbone of our supply chain as we expand into further markets. Thanks to you and your team for all the support over these years."

"Applexus's High Ticket Retailing solution addresses a very important need in having real-time 360-degree visibility of the consumer experience. In addition, we expect that the single view of the inventory, along with the most up-to-date pricing of the products, will directly impact the bottom line of the company and enhance the consumer's experience," said Allan J. Weiss, VP, Retail and Fashion Delivery Execution with SAP.
