  • New York, NY (1888PressRelease) May 13, 2023 - On Sunday, gospel singer Angela “Missy” Billups electrified the streets of New York City as she performed for more than 30,000 cyclists participating in the TD Five Boro Bike Tour. Missy, accompanied by her group, the Voices of New York, brought the crowd to its feet with their uplifting and soulful sounds as the cyclists rode along Adam Clayton Powell Boulevard between West 125th and West 126th Streets on May 7.

This marked Missy’s eleventh year participating in the event. “Just to be able to spread the Good News through song, and give hope and cheer to tens of thousands from all over the world means more to me than anything,” she said.

The TD Five Boro Bike Tour, a perennial sold-out spring charitable event, clears the streets of cars for three hours in the morning, allowing bicyclists to ride safely on the historic streets and avenues of New York. In addition to being cheered on by locals, participants enjoyed top entertainment at several key points along the course. The sounds on Sunday included artists from the worlds of electronic dance music, rock, jazz, reggae, Latin, singer-songwriters, Afro-Puerto Rican diasporic music, and gospel.

Missy and the Voices of New York fueled riders’ spirits with inspiring songs like “The Best is Yet to Come,” “Oh Happy Day,” and “Let the Hallelujah Roll.” She also treated them to her latest single, “For My Good.”
