  • (1888PressRelease) September 14, 2011 - For the past 3 months, between June and August 2011, 663 participants from over 60 countries have played to win the TAT's Amazing 10 Days in Thailand contest,www.amazing10daysinthailand.com. The goal was to get the highest number of acceptances from emails sent by participants inviting their friends to join them on a trip to Thai destinations.

    The winner would then win a free trip to Thailand for 10 days with a friend, and prizes totaling 13,000 USD, including accommodation, meals, and round-trip tickets to Thailand for their luxurious 10-day stay in 4 prime Thai destinations. The competition was intense and exciting. More than 38,000 emails of invitation were sent out by the participants. Of these, over 13,000 of the participants' friends accepted their invitations. The contest website received in excess of 22,000 visits and 80,000 page views during the contest period.

    From the 100 destinations listed on the site, the top 5 places desired by voters were: Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn), Bangkok, at #1 with 133 votes; #2: Mu Ko Phi Phi (Phi Phi Islands), Krabi, with 125 votes; #3: Maya Bay in Krabi with 96 votes; #4: Doi Ang Khang National Park in Chiang Mai province with 83 votes; and rounding out the Top 5: Phuket Fantasea with 80 votes.

    Numbers 6 - 10 in popularity were: Siam Paragon in Bangkok (79 votes); Ko Hong, Krabi (74 votes); Pang Ung, Mae Hong Son (67 votes); Amphawa Floating Market, Samut Songkhram (60 votes); and Ko Nang Yuan in Surat Thani (55 votes). And finally, after all their work and the thousands of invitations sent to friends, the winners are:

    In First Place with 2,085 points (acceptances), the winner is Mr. Aliaksandr Laurynovich from Belarus, receiving US$3,000 in cash and a luxurious 10-night stay in four of Thailand's most popular destinations with full board and round-trip international air tickets for two persons.

    The First Runner-up is Ms. Janjira Yindee from host country Thailand with 1,528 points. She will receive a luxurious 7-night trip to Thailand for two, and stay in three of Thailand's most popular destinations.

    And the Second Runner-up, not far behind #2, is Mrs. Luoana Predescu from Romania with 1,463 points, who will receive a luxurious 5-night trip to three of Thailand's most popular destinations.
